Why Include Auto-Targeting Campaigns in Your Advertising Strategy?

While many sellers focus on exact, phrase, and broad match manual campaigns, they miss out on valuable opportunities provided by auto campaigns. Auto-targeting allows your ads to appear on related product pages, or even on pages for complementary items, offering a wealth of data on potential new categories and targets. This insight can significantly deepen your understanding of where your audience is shopping and which new markets to explore.

For instance, in our work with a client selling a globe-styled pillow designed to teach kids geography, we discovered through auto campaigns that the product was frequently purchased from listings categorized under classroom supplies. This insight led us to experiment with targeted campaigns focused on specific categories and ASINs, uncovering valuable market trends that manual campaigns alone would not have revealed.

Lower CPCs on Your Search Terms

It’s important to note that while auto campaigns often result in lower Cost Per Click (CPC) and higher conversion rates compared to some keyword-targeted campaigns, this isn’t always the case.
