Disruptive Advertising’s Response to COVID-19: What You Need to Know
by Saunder Schroeder • May 5, 2020
In these times of uncertainty, businesses around the globe are figuring out how to proceed with this “new normal.”
Here at Disruptive Advertising, we’ve been doing our best to support our employees and local community. Our team has implemented new policies in response to COVID-19 and the recent market downturn.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Working from Home
One of the biggest policies we’ve put in place has been working from home. We have a handful of employees who started at Disruptive and have moved to different states, but 99% of our employees work at the office every day.
Our team made the switch to WFH overnight and thankfully, we were already using productivity and collaboration tools like Google Hangouts, Slack, and Teamwork to make the transition pretty seamless.
We have a lot of employees with kids, who are now also home, so we’re offering flexibility in our working hours while elevating expectations and providing exceptional results for our clients. Another thing we’ve done to help support our culture are daily huddles—either through Google Hangouts or Marco Polo.
Our company culture is very important to us here at Disruptive, and team comradery is one thing that has helped us strengthen and grow our culture. These huddles are a great opportunity for employees to share how they’re feeling, share their big rocks for the day and week, and seek support where needed.
Disruptive is a Team
For the most part, we’ve handled business as usual but changed the channels of how it’s done. We haven’t had to do any layoffs, furloughs, or cut anyone’s salary.
Since most of our employees have worked at our office, most weren’t set up with a home office. We offered a truck and whatever equipment—chairs, desks, monitors, etc—employees needed to be able to stay productive while working from home.

We also have a monthly charity budget at Disruptive that’s a percentage of our revenue normally used to help others in the community. Since we’re in “unnormal” times, we’ve used our charity budget to help our own employees.
This includes everything from providing employees with DoorDash gift cards, supporting local businesses, providing work stations for homeschooling, helping pay extra bills for families that have had spouses affected by COVID-19 and many other things.
Our team has also done programs around Miracle Mornings and fitness challenges that come with some fun incentives.
We’ve also stayed diligent in offering our Personal Development and Finance course at Disruptive to teach and practice positive habits that especially help in times of uncertainty like these.
Supporting Other Businesses
The biggest way we’ve supported other businesses during this time is by being partners with our clients. We have clients in different industries, which means they’ve been affected by COVID-19 in different ways.
Being a partner and aligning with their business goals has allowed us to grow aggressively with some, while pausing or being flexible with billing for others.
At Disruptive, we’re passionate about building lifelong relationships with a foundation that starts with business and marketing results. Any worthwhile relationship requires work from both parties to be successful.
We partner with our clients to understand the WHY behind your business, the GOALS you aspire to and IMPACT this will have on your customers and business; we translate this into a unique and authentic marketing strategy to get us there together.
We understand that in order to win, our clients need to win, so we’re doing our best to make this a win-win. Another way we’ve been supporting other businesses has been through online reviews. Online reviews are free, social-proof, and easy to do right now.
By using Clutch, a B2B ratings and reviews platform, we receive unbiased, verified client feedback. In a recent review, one client said, “The thing that we really like about Disruptive is that they have a large team of experienced advertisers.”
Our leadership team is thrilled to celebrate the success of our employees, even during these unprecedented times. We’re even more excited to support other businesses by reviewing our partners as well.
